Charles Swanson's work is primarily in macroeconomics and monetary theory. He has published papers on economic growth and business cycles. His current research focuses on the causes of business cycles and the relationships between business cycles and petroleum prices, asset prices and productivity. In addition, he is completing some work on bank regulations and capital requirements. He has taught a number of undergraduate and Masters level courses in macroeconomics, as well as Ph.D. courses in Finance (Investments) and in Macroeconomics.
