Graduation Application

The August 2013 graduation application is available to students with an August 30, 2013 expected graduation date (on their records). Please follow these instructions to check that your expected graduation date is correct.

  • Logon to TUportal
  • Select the Student Tools tab
  • In the Records section, select Student Status
  • Select the current term (Summer 2013) and click Submit–once there you should see your expected graduation date

Apply for August 2013 Graduation through Self Service Banner:

  • Log into TUportal
  • Under TUApplications select Self Service Banner
  • Click the “Student” tab
  • Select “Student Records”
  • Select “Apply To Graduate” 

Continue on following the steps through to the application submission confirmation screen.

Change Your Graduation Date

If your date is incorrect please send an email request to claugrad@temple.edu to have it changed or submit a “Change of Graduation Date Form” in the CLA Academic Advising Center (1810 Liacouras Walk, Suite 301). Ambler Campus students must contact their advisor in General Undergraduate Advising (West Hall, Room 109) or call 267-468-8200.

***Temple University awards degrees every year in January, May, and August. In your email request state the month and year you plan to graduate (i.e. August 2013).

Ceremony Information

The University Commencement Ceremony — Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Liacouras Center (approximately 90 minutes)
The Liacouras Center will open at 8:30 a.m. Graduates must report to the loading dock entrance (on Broad Street near Cecil B. Moore Avenue) in academic regalia no later than 8:45 a.m. and form single file lines behind their college banners.
If you are late and the academic procession has begun, please wait until all graduates have entered the arena. Be seated at the rear of the student body; do not join your school.

The College of Liberal Arts Graduation Ceremony — Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Liacouras Center (approximately 2 hours)
Graduates must arrive in full academic regalia by 12:00 at the loading dock on the left side of the Liacouras Center to allow time for registration. Please note that tickets are not required for CLA graduation ceremony. CLA Staff will provide instruction on the ceremony procedures during registration.

The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m., so please make certain all friends and family arrive in time to be settled by then. Please arrive early if you or any of your guests require assistance with seating because of a physical disability.

Parking will be available in the Liacouras parking garage at Cecil B. Moore and North 15th Street. Parking is $14 and you pay upon entry. Please be advised that all University parking lots accept cash only. (Parking Services/Main Campus Map)

Order Your Cap and Gown

Temple graduates are required to wear their school/college’s approved cap, gown and hood at commencement and graduation.

You may pre-order your academic regalia online or in-person at the Main Campus Bookstore with cash, check (payable to Temple University Bookstore), Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Pre-orders may be shipped to the bookstore free of charge, or to a home address for a shipping & handling charge of $14.50.

If you are an Ambler Campus student, please contact the Ambler Bookstore at 267-468-8460 to pre-order.

The cost of your full academic regalia is as follows:
Bachelors Degree: $63.98 + tax

Please note: The cap, gown (made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles) and hood are yours to keep.

Information for senior portraits for the class of 2014 will be posted here in the fall 2013 semester.

Graduation Photographs

Legacy Photographics will take two pictures of each graduate attending the college graduation ceremony. The first photo will be taken when receiving the diploma, and the second exiting the stage. Proofs and ordering information will be emailed and mailed home 5 days after the ceremony. To registrar parents and friends to receive your email proof, visit www.legacyphoto.com.
