Program Requirements

The PhD in Geography and Urban Studies requires 51 didactic credits beyond the baccalaureate.  Students must complete six required courses, four methodology courses and seven electives. Additionally, PhD students are required to take a qualifying examination, submit a formal research proposal, and complete a dissertation that makes an original contribution to the field of Geography and Urban Studies.
