The Student Professional Development Program within the College of Liberal Arts is committed to enhancing students’ professionalism and empowering students to present themselves successfully as candidates for internship, employment and post-secondary education opportunities.

Our primary goals:

  • Core Services & Programs – To offer undergraduate CLA students opportunities to develop the necessary skills to succeed in today’s job market.
  • Employer Relations – To work with departments and employers to collaborate on professional development initiatives and further cultivate internship and professional relationships.
  • Experiential Learning – To cultivate relationships with alumni and other offices on campus that may potentially result in internship, career and research opportunities.

Patrick Gordon, Senior Professional Development Advisor | pgordon@temple.edu

gordonA journalist by trade, Patrick spent time working in the sports departments of the Philadelphia Daily News and the Philadelphia Bulletin before  launching his own successful baseball publication. Along with his work as a baseball writer, Patrick has spent the better part of the past eight years at Temple managing services related to student professional development. Prior to joining the College of Liberal Arts, he assisted in the creation and managed a successful student professional development center within the School of Media and Communication.

anselmoElizabeth was born and raised in Scranton, PA. She moved to Utah shortly after high school to learn and grow in an unfamiliar culture and pursue her post-secondary education. She studied Psychology in her undergraduate studies and Professional School Counseling in her graduate studies. Prior to joining the College of Liberal Arts she worked as an Admission Counselor at Manor College located in Jenkintown, PA. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and French Bulldog, running, watching movies, and eating Italian food.

She was also recently accepted into Temple’s Master of Journalism 4+1 program and began her graduate career in Fall 2015.Through internships at a newspaper, a medical non-profit, and a higher education institution, she has developed stronger professional skills and hopes to share them with the CLA community.
