Admission
Undergraduate students with an interest in neuroscience are admitted to the Program after declaration of a major at Temple University. Upon successful completion of their departmental and Neuroscience Program requirements, students receive a bachelor’s degree with a Specialization in Neuroscience. The “Specialization in Neuroscience” is noted on their transcript.
Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, a student must complete an application and:
1.) Take three neuroscience courses and earn a B or better. Neuroscience courses are listed at: Undergraduate Neuroscience Course Descriptions.
2.) Carry out two semesters working on neuroscience research in the laboratory of a faculty member of the Neuroscience Program. List of Neuroscience faculty members.
3.) Present the research results publicly - this can be a Poster Presentation or a talk to the Neuroscience@Temple Seminar Series/Journal Club or at a formal scientific meeting, including a meeting for undergraduate research presentations.
4.) Write and submit a paper based on the research carried out and have it approved by two faculty members of the Neuroscience Program (one can be the neuroscience faculty advisor).
