Debra Bangasser, PhD, an assistant professor of psychology and neuroscience at Temple University, has already made valuable contributions to researchers’ understanding of sex differences in stress. As a graduate student at Rutgers University, Dr. Bangasser identified the role of different brain regions in mediating the effects of stress on learning. Later, she discovered novel sex differences in molecules involved in stress signaling. In addition to these scientific accomplishments, Dr. Bangasser has proved herself as an exemplary collaborator, mentor, and science advocate at Temple.
