To accomplish and sustain the mission of the university, the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office is organized into distinct areas for its daily and long-term operations. From the academic lives of our students and faculty, to the reaching out to alumni, each of the offices within the CLA is intently focused on meeting and exceeding its goals.

Office of the Dean

The Dean is responsible for the leadership and daily administrative functions of the College of Liberal Arts. Working with the academic departments within the College, Dean Teresa Scott Soufas ensures that the quality of our academic programs meets and exceeds the objectives of Temple University’s educational mission.

Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for all undergraduate and graduate educational, curricular, and student affairs matters and is responsible for ensuring the quality of all students’ academic experience.

Development & Alumni Relations

The CLA Development office helps alumni reconnect with the college while helping to raise funds essential to continuing CLA’s mission of educating the next generation of leaders.

External & Government Affairs

External and Government Affairs works to foster healthy relationships with elected officials in Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and Washington D.C.

Faculty Affairs

The CLA Faculty Affairs Office assists departmental chairpersons, faculty, and staff with strategic academic planning, faculty recruitment and hiring, tenure and promotion processes, merit processes, sabbaticals, faculty awards, and other aspects of faculty development.

Finance & Operations

The Finance and Operations Office is responsible for the development and implementation of University fiscal policies, accounting procedures, internal control mechanisms and financial systems.

Information Technology

CLA IT provides a comprehensive array of technology and technology support for the students, faculty, and staff of the College of Liberal Arts.

Planning & Administration

The CLA Planning and Administration Office facilitates the identification and deployment of University resources to meet operational and stategic priorities.

Research

The Office of Research in the College of Liberal Arts exists to promote and support high quality research and scholarship by faculty members and students.
