Labaron Palmer is a doctoral candidate in Geography and Urban Studies. He received his B.A. in Geography and Urban Studies at Temple University and his M.A. in Geography at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. His broader academic interests are an interdisciplinary focus of sustainability and urbanity within human geography and its influence on urban development and planning initiatives. His most recent interests have been focused on the confluence of theory and practice as it relates to the distinctive issues that are impacting major cities in the U.S., Middle East and Africa including the intersections of social equity, economic development and environmental awareness. He previously held positions with the University of Pennsylvania’s Middle East Center and the Commerce Department of Philadelphia.
